An original Backstage Band & Road Crew badge from the Rockpalast Festival, held on April 19/20, 1980 at the Grugahalle, Essen, Germany. This is a physical credential — a printed card badge with an original metal snap clip — not a laminate or sticky pass. It is among the earliest and rarest forms of backstage credentialing from the era.

Rockpalast was the legendary WDR television broadcast series that captured some of the greatest live rock performances of the late 1970s and early 1980s, beaming them across Europe in marathon overnight broadcasts. The April 1980 Grugahalle event was a milestone edition, and a backstage Band & Road Crew badge from that night is a genuine artifact of European rock broadcasting history.

Retained by Johnny "JW" Roberts, SHOWCO audio engineer, from his time working the production.
