KISS Original Handwritten Input List on Hotel Stationery — SHOWCO / ZZ Top Tour (1974/1975)
An original handwritten KISS input list and stage diagram, circa 1974/1975, written on Quality Inn/Clarmont hotel stationery — 650 South High Street, Columbus, Ohio. A quintessential piece of road ephemera: the show's technical blueprint drafted wherever paper was available, in this case the notepad from the band's hotel.
The document details channel assignments for three vocals, Special Effects, Bass, Rhythm, and Lead guitars, plus a full drum input list — Kick, Floor Tom, Left Tom, Right Tom, Snare, Hi-Hat, and OH. A hand-sketched stage plot shows amp positions for Bass, Rhythm, and Lead, with monitor wedge placements and notes indicating the band had their own drum clamps for mics except desk mounts for kick, and that they supplied their own mic stands.
Written during KISS's run as the opening act for ZZ Top, this document captures the band at the very beginning of their ascent — working out of hotel rooms, building a show that would soon become one of the most theatrical in rock history.
Provenance: From the personal collection of Bill 'Doc' Gans, SHOWCO sound engineer. Authenticated SHOWCO Archives original.
