Jackson Browne 1977 San Jose Backstage Pass – Doc Gans
Jackson Browne 1977 San Jose Backstage Pass – Doc Gans
An original satin cloth stick-on backstage pass from a Jackson Browne show in San Jose — sourced directly from the personal archive of Bill 'Doc' Gans, SHOWCO sound engineer.
This large rectangular satin pass is a standout piece — featuring a beautifully rendered fuel gauge graphic, needle pointing just past half, with "E" and "F" on either side and "1/2" at the top. "Jackson Browne" is printed in elegant serif type above, "San Jose" below. The fuel gauge is a direct visual reference to the Running on Empty era — one of the most celebrated live albums in rock history, recorded on the road in 1977. The pass shows significant age: heavy yellowing, fraying edges, and the soft patina of nearly 50 years. Extremely fragile — handle with care.
