An original typed lyric sheet for “I’m a Road Runner Baby” from the personal archive of Bill “Doc” Gans, SHOWCO sound engineer and a member of James Taylor’s touring production world.
Originally recorded by Junior Walker & the All Stars, “(I’m a) Road Runner” also became part of James Taylor’s live repertoire. This surviving working-style lyric sheet offers a glimpse into the paper materials that traveled with performers and crews—small, easily lost reminders of how a show came together behind the scenes.
The sheet was preserved in Doc’s personal archive. Its precise date and use on any specific performance have not been confirmed, and the collection attribution is the documented provenance.
